Mano Erina Solo Concert
The Hello Project official website has announced that Mano Erina will have her first solo concert in June this year. I’m a bit dubious about what material the concert will include – she’ll have only four singles. Unless she releases an album in a very short space of time (not too unlikely for Hello! Project), I can imagine we’ll hear a lot of covers.
No specific dates or tour title yet.
Tsuji Nozomi Opens Blog
Former W member Tsuji Nozomi finally returns with the opening of her blog today! It’s been a long time since she’s had any sort of content with fans and I must say I’m pleased to see something from her – before her shock marriage / pregnancy she was my favourite Hello! Project member.
I’m not getting my hopes up for any sort of release – I think she’s just back in time for the end of the Elder Club.
None the less it’s good to see her – she’s looking cuter than ever!
New Artist Image for Maeda Yuki
The Hello! Project website has uploaded a new profile picture for Maeda Yuki presumably in promotion for her 9th single Kenchana ~Daijoubu~ due out on 2008-02-25. I must say it’s refreshing to see her in something other than traditional Japanese dress!
Ice Creamusume Scale the Charts!
Ice Creamusume’s debut mini-album is slowly climbing the G-Music charts (Taiwan’s equivalent of Oricon) ranking at #11 in it’s second week of sales – a seven position increase from it’s debut week at #18 in the Mandarin Charts!
In the combo charts (not restricted to Mandarin music) the girls have went from #20 up to #11 – a huge increase and excellent for the second week!
Let’s hope Ice Creamusume continues to find success!
HANGRY&ANGRY To release single
It was annouced today that HANGRY&ANGRY will release a single at some point this year and recording will begin next month, Yoshizawa Hitomi confirmed the news on the official blog of the duo!
This is great news, I didn’t expect them to release anything after their fantastic yet low circulated mini-album!
Yaguchi Mari to release colloboration single!
Hello! Project soloist Yaguchi Mari is to release her first musical project since leaving Morning Musume in 2005 this March 2009! Her first single, which as of yet is untitled, is a duet with Airband who are members of the Hexagon family, who brought us Pabo, Aladdin, Shuchshin and Satoda Mai’s solo works. This is pretty big news as Yaguchi is still a relatively popular variety idol and the only Hello! Project member with her own TV show. The news came as a massive shock to nearly everyone and people all over J-pop forums are going pretty crazy! I appologize for this news being a little late – dealing with Japanese university applications is one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done!
Mano Erina to make major debut in March
Hello! Project soloist Mano Erina is to release her debut major single this March with the title 乙女の祈り (Otome no Inori, Maiden’s Prayer). So far only the Single V has been announced which has a tentative release date of 2009-03-25 therefore we can assume the single will be released early / mid-March.
The single will be released on the hachama label like soloist Abe Natsumi and the original solo works of Fujimoto Miki.
Pretty exciting stuff – I’ve reasonbly enjoyed her three indie singles! I wonder if this is a cover of the well known song of the same name?
