New Singles for C-ute & S/mileage
It was announced yesterday that C-ute will release their 11th single this coming 2010-01-06 – the first major Hello! Project release of the new year. It will also be the group’s first single as a 5 member group, I’m hoping it’s something a bit more enjoyable than everything they released in 2009! The single is titled SHOCK!
S/mileage will release their 3rd indies single entitled スキちゃん (Suki Chan) this month on 2009-11-23, the group will most likely make their major debut next year though as their indie singles are published on TNX it’s unclear if they’ll debut under Hello! Project or TNX – I’m hoping Hello! Project!
Record Sales for AKB48
AKB48’s latest single RIVER has sold a staggering 178,579 copies in it’s 1st week of sales and ranked at #1 in the Oricon Charts – a first for AKB48.
These sales are really very impressive for an idol group and AKB48 seem to be going up and up in terms of sales and popularity, the area where I live is literally covered in posters for the group and it’s surprising all the different places the girls crop up both as a group and individually.
The single ranked at #4 today, one place ahead of Morning Musume’s newest single “Kimagure Princess -” not looking too good for Morning Musume!
I’m not really a fan of the direction AKB48’s music has taken and for me, they were at their best in 2007. Still congratulations to the group!
And then there were five
Umeda Erika graduated from C-ute last night at the final concert of their latest tour, this brings C-ute down to a five member line-up – the smallest major group in Hello! Project now.
Kusumi Koharu to graduate from Hello! Project / Morning Musume
It was announced today at Morning Musume’s first concert of the Nine Smile tour that 7th generation member and former soloist Kusumi Koharu will be graduating from both Morning Musume and Hello! Project at the end of the current tour.
I’m rather surprised by this news as Kusumi is a pretty important member in Morning Musume and although her talent is somewhat questionable she’s a fan favourite.
I’ve never really been a fan but I’ll be sad to see her go, if only for Morning Musume’s sake. Kusumi will graduate on 2009-12-06.

2nd Album for HANGRY&ANGRY: Sadistic Dance (09-11-11)
Neowing has announced that the earlier released digital single, Sadisitc Dance by HANGRY&ANGRY will be released this November as a full album!

While I think it’s a little lazy releasing 2009 versions of songs released late last year I’m really pleased HANGRY & ANGRY are continuing to get releases, I really love their music!
Morning Musume’s 41st Single “Kimagure Princess” (09-10-21)
It was announced today on e-hon that Morning Musume will release their 41st single, titled 気まぐれプリンセス；Kimiagure Princess; Whimsical Princess on 2009-10-21!
After the relative success of Nanchatte Renai I hope this is good – it will be released in four editions, Limited A with a DVD, Limited B with a DVD, Limited C with 10 different covers, one of the group and of each girl and a regular edition.
The Single V will be released a week later on 2009-10-28.
