Fujimoto Miki Marriage!

Following the recent trend of ex-Hello! Project getting married, soloist Fujimoto Miki will be getting married in the not too distant future to comedian Shouji Tomoharu who she has been dating for quite some time now and was the reason for her abrupt departure from Morning Musume in 2007. Apparently Miki will continue her work as a soloist, not necessarily releasing music though appearing in plays and on television.
Oh and it’s been confirmed Mikitty isn’t pregnant.
All the best to Mikitty!
Cover for “Okitegami Single V”
The HMV webiste has uploaded what appears to be the cover for Fujimoto Miki’s greatly delayed Single V for her 2008 single Okitegami. It’s a nice image though very similiar to the single cover. I also wonder if this is the finalized cover as there is no text on it, not that that is particularly uncommon.

The 34th Mitsubishi Summer Festival “Happy Summer Festival”
The Hello! Project Official Website (Japan) has posted a news item about the upcoming Mitsubishi Summer Festival at which Ishikawa Rika, Yoshizawa Hitomi and Fujimoto Miki will be guests. Mikitty will be pimping her Okitegami single some more as well as singing pictures etc. Other CDs and DVDs will also be on sale as well as the usual photographs and posters.

Okitegami 1st Week Sales
Well Fujimoto Miki’s “comeback” single was released last week and sold a somewhat disappointing 5,771 copies in it’s first week. Looking at in perspective though it was published on the Rice Music label and it isn’t technically J-Pop, if it had been something with a slightly larger appeal I hope it would have sold better. I hold a slightly optimistic hope she isn’t staying on the Rice Music label and will continue to have releases. That might be a little unrealistic though. The single ranked at #29 in the weekly chart and peaked at #14 in the daily charts.
Today’s Releases (2008-04-23)
2008-04-23
- Fujimoto Miki - Oki Tegami (6th Single)
- v-u-den – Nanni mo Iwazu ni I LOVE YOU (10th Single) (Limited with DVD)
- C-ute – Namida no Iro (5th Single) (Limited with DVD)
- AKB48 – Himawari Gumi 1st stage Boku no Taiyo (Concert DVD)
Three Hello! Project singles released on the same day?! Seems a little odd having three artists from the same company battling it out on the charts though maybe some hardcore fans will pick up all three singles at the same time? I love Fujimoto Miki’s new single though I’ve yet to hear the c/w as my copy is at home and I am not. v-u-den’s final single is really nice, what really makes it special is the solo tracks included on it. Ishikawa Rika’s solo in particular is very good. C-ute’s 5th single is good, better than their last in my opinion though still not as good as Tokkaiko Junjou. I haven’t seen the Himawari Gumi concert so I can’t really comment on it. This seems like the first time in ages I’ve posted an AKB48 release though.
New Hello! Project Artist Photos: Morning Musume & Fujimoto Miki
The official Hello! Project website has uploaded new artist photos for Morning Musume and Fujimoto Miki. While I approve of Morning Musume’s Resonant Blue costumes, Fujimoto Miki’s artist photo looks ridiculous, they haven’t even attempted to make it fit with the rest of the page!

1:54 Clip of Fujimoto Miki’s Okitegami on Dohhh UP!
There’s an extended version of the press-conference clip of Fujimoto Miki’s 6th single, Okitegami now available on Dohhh UP!
If you’re curious you can also watch a clip of the same length of the person releasing the same single, on the same day. I far prefer Fujimoto’s version I have to say;
