New Material for Ice Creamusume?

It’s been almost eight months since Ice Creamusume released their debut mini-album in Taiwan and Japan, and the girls released it in Mainland China at the beginning of this month. I’m certainly eager for some more material from them either in Mandarin or Japanese!
One of the girls have mentioned on their blogs that they are in recording for something right now and the blog will undergo a revamp later this month – possibly to promote their next release. If they follow the patterns of most other artists in Taiwan it’s like to be another mini-album or EP, perhaps even a full length album. Singles are somewhat more rare in a Taiwanese context.
The girls will be performing at most of the remaining summer Hello! Project concerts so maybe we’ll even get a preview, might be a bit early though!
Ice Creamusume Scale the Charts!

Ice Creamusume’s debut mini-album is slowly climbing the G-Music charts (Taiwan’s equivalent of Oricon) ranking at #11 in it’s second week of sales – a seven position increase from it’s debut week at #18 in the Mandarin Charts!
In the combo charts (not restricted to Mandarin music) the girls have went from #20 up to #11 – a huge increase and excellent for the second week!
Let’s hope Ice Creamusume continues to find success!

- Ice Creamusume - 1st Zui Bang! (Debut Mini-Album) (Taiwan Release)
- MilkyWay / SHIPS – Kirarin Revolution 3rd Tour Stage 3 (Anime DVD)
Ice Creamusme released their debut album, 1st Zui Bang! in Taiwan yesterday and after an initial listen I must say I really like it! Strictly speaking there is only one new track, their debut song for which their is a PV. There are three Morning Musume covers and the Ame no Furenai… song that was originally performed in concert and mostly in Japanese. There voices aren’t amazing but far from awful, quite endearing really.
Tomorrow (2009-01-11) Canary Club member Sugiura Riho (Rippon) will graduate from the group and TNX to focus on her studies apparently, this has been known for a few months and as I’m not too familiar with the group I’m not sure what effect her graduation will have. Best of luck to her anyway!
On the right you will notice the PVs for Kusumi Koharu’s Hapi Hapi Sunday and Buono!’s co.no.mi.chi have been released. Koharu’s single isn’t as bad as Papancake and I really like Buono!’s new single, the PV is pretty nice too.
New Ice Creamusume Artist Profile [Update: New Info]
New Hello! Project group Ice Creamusume are now listed on the official Japanese website though not under Wonderful Hearts as I had hoped but rather under ハロプロ台湾, Hello Pro Taiwan. I suppose that makes sense and I wonder if we’re going to see more groups from Taiwan? I’d say so.
[Update:] The Japanese version of Ice Creamusume’s debut mini-album will be sold at the Elder Club concert on 2009-01-31. Also the Japanese PV for the album’s featured track has been released and is viewable on the right as always.
You can see the group shot and profile pictures below though they’re the same as everywhere else we’ve seen;

Liang Ai Ge Ming 21 Preview

From Stardust – A radio preview of Ice Creamusume’s Liang Ai Ge Ming 21 (恋爱革命21) has been released on Taiwanese radio! The song is from their upcoming debut mini-album and it’s a cover of the Morning Musume classic, Renai Revolution 21. I expected a new arrangement and was a little disappointed by the lack of one but then I suppose there’s nothing wrong with the original and DANCE*MAN did compose it.
I find it a little odd that they still say chou chou chou ii kanji but I think the song is lovely in Mandarin – such a beautiful language! I think their voices are somewhat…weak? I’m not sure if that’s the right word but they’re certainly not very strong – I’m sort of half hoping that the album is a complete cover album, I’d love to hear some other perhaps more recent songs covered in Mandarin. This is a double edged sword though, while it would be cool and perhaps sell decently in Taiwan it would most likely bomb in Japan.
Anyway, head over to Stardust to listen / download!
Ice Creamusume Debut Mini-Album Release Date & Title
![]()
Ice Creamusume’s debut mini-album which has been oddly titled 1st Best is due to be released in Taiwan on 2008-01-09 with a Japanese release to follow within the same month. The first song revealed from the mini-album is 戀愛革命21 (Love Revolution 21) - a cover of Morning Musume’s hit Renai Revolution 21. It’s been suggested by many fans that it’s likely the album will be comprised of covers of well known Hello! Project songs, this is however far from confirmed. It’ll be exciting to hear some familiar songs given a new twist and in Chinese though!
