Kusumi Koharu to graduate from Hello! Project / Morning Musume
It was announced today at Morning Musume’s first concert of the Nine Smile tour that 7th generation member and former soloist Kusumi Koharu will be graduating from both Morning Musume and Hello! Project at the end of the current tour.
I’m rather surprised by this news as Kusumi is a pretty important member in Morning Musume and although her talent is somewhat questionable she’s a fan favourite.
I’ve never really been a fan but I’ll be sad to see her go, if only for Morning Musume’s sake. Kusumi will graduate on 2009-12-06.
Morning Musume’s 41st Single “Kimagure Princess” (09-10-21)
It was announced today on e-hon that Morning Musume will release their 41st single, titled 気まぐれプリンセス；Kimiagure Princess; Whimsical Princess on 2009-10-21!
After the relative success of Nanchatte Renai I hope this is good – it will be released in four editions, Limited A with a DVD, Limited B with a DVD, Limited C with 10 different covers, one of the group and of each girl and a regular edition.
The Single V will be released a week later on 2009-10-28.
2nd Week Sales for Nanchatte Renai

Morning Musume’s 40th single Nanchatte Renai #12 in the Oricon Weekly Charts with sales of 11,271 – the highest second week sales since 女子かしまし物語 (Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari) in 2004!
This brings Nanchatte Renai’s total sales figures to 66,244 and it charted at #10 today so it’s most likely gonna sell a little bit more in it’s 3rd week! Let’s hope for 70,000!! Shows what some promotion can achieve eh?
First Week Sales for Nanchatte Renai
Morning Musume’s 40th single, Nanchatte Renai, has charted at #2 this week with sales of 54,973 – their best first week since Iroppoi Jirettai in 2005! Let’s hope they reach at least 60,000!
First Two Days of Sales for Nanchatte Renai
In it’s first two days of sales Morning Musume’s 40th single, Nanchatte Renai, has sold 34,247 copies and charted at No.2 both days just behind Hamasaki Ayumi, today only about 2,000 copies behind!
Let’s hope they stay at No.2 for the rest of the week – there’s a decent ammount of promotion going on, maybe this will top Kanashimi Twilight…?
Morning Musume C/W Collection (2009-10-07)
Morning Musume are to release an album compiling all of their coupling tracks right from their major debut in 1998 to 2009 for a total of 42 tracks over 3 CDs. Not too much here for people who own all of the singles but for newer fans or perhaps owners of just the albums this might be a must have!
The “All Singles Complete” album came out around two years earlier in October 2007 – doesn’t seem like so long ago!
