1st Day Sales for Iiwake Maybe

AKB48 have done it again, the first day sales for their newest single, Iiwake Maybe is 57,456 and it’s ranked at #1 around 20,000 copies above SMAP! That’s some pretty impressive figures!

I don’t really understand the great attraction of the single as it sounds like just about everything else they’ve released lately, it’s a fairly decent single overall and I like the c/w better!

This could potentially be AKB48’s first weekly #1!

2nd Week Sales for Nanchatte Renai

やった！

Morning Musume’s 40th single Nanchatte Renai #12 in the Oricon Weekly Charts with sales of 11,271 – the highest second week sales since 女子かしまし物語 (Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari) in 2004!

This brings Nanchatte Renai’s total sales figures to 66,244 and it charted at #10 today so it’s most likely gonna sell a little bit more in it’s 3rd week! Let’s hope for 70,000!! Shows what some promotion can achieve eh?

Lowest Ever Sales for Nacchi

Hello! Project soloist Abe Natsumi’s latest single Screen which was released 2008-12-03 ranked at #29 in the Oricon Weekly Charts last week just scraping a top 30 ranking and selling a shockingly low 4,848 copies. Although Nacchi’s single sales have decreased in the last few years they’ve never been particularly bad and certainly not as low as this. The single peaked at #10 in the daily charts last week and fell from there, it’s highest chart point this week has been #50.

The reason for such low sales? Next to no promotion, only one edition of the single and no TV performances. This is a really awesome single and Up-Front should be ashamed for under promoting it. Abe has certainly lost her earlier popularity but there’s no reason that this single should have sold as low as it did.

Her best-of album which came out on 2008-12-10 debuted at #15 in the album charts and dropped to 31 the following day.

Quite a day of releases today, two singles, an album and a DVD. The DVD is about Gatas Brilhantes H.P so for me, that’s not too interesting. However, we have GAM’s great first album as well as v-u-den’s new single Koi Suru Angel Heart.

Satoda Mai’s first solo release was also released today, her duet with Fujioka Fujimaki was interesting, I’ll be reviewing that later.
