Well, hardcore AKB48 fans must be pretty inpoverished a hell a lot of the time! Akimoto’s “one-upped” Hello! Project and released four different DVDs for the same music video. Admittedly they all contain different content (apart from the box set which is all three in one neat package). This is possibly their last release on DefStar though it may already be on King-Records, I dunno! The pink and blue versions are 3,500yen while the green version is 2,500. The box-set is a whopping 10,000yen~!

AKB48 Single Titled – Ooge Diamond

AKB48’s single has been titled as Ooge Diamond, it translates something like “Loud Diamond Voice” or “Great Voice of Diamond,” stay tuned for a better translation…

The single will be released on 2008-10-22!

Finally! New AKB48 Single (2008-10-22)

Itano Tomomi (Team A)

The next AKB48 single has finally been announced and they’ve switched label from DefStar to King Records (v-u-den’s final single was distributed and marketed by this label.)

This switch is most likely the reason it’s taken so long for a physical single to be released, it will be released in a standard edition with DVD and a special theater edition which of course you can only purchase at the AKB48 theater.

The single will be released on 2008-10-22 and as of yet is untitled.

Minegishi Minami of AKB48 releases her first solo photobook today, is it just me or do AKB48 seem to be concentrating on their solo efforts lately? Minami will be holding a handshake event later today Fukuta Shoten with a limit of 500 lucky fans.

It seems like quite some time since I posted an AKB48, their last single was in February which is a while in the J-Pop scene! Baby! Baby! Baby! is their first digital single available only on Docomo phones. I’m not really feeling the single all that much but I’ll give it a better listen later!

Three Hello! Project singles released on the same day?! Seems a little odd having three artists from the same company battling it out on the charts though maybe some hardcore fans will pick up all three singles at the same time? I love Fujimoto Miki’s new single though I’ve yet to hear the c/w as my copy is at home and I am not. v-u-den’s final single is really nice, what really makes it special is the solo tracks included on it. Ishikawa Rika’s solo in particular is very good. C-ute’s 5th single is good, better than their last in my opinion though still not as good as Tokkaiko Junjou. I haven’t seen the Himawari Gumi concert so I can’t really comment on it. This seems like the first time in ages I’ve posted an AKB48 release though.
